Monday Fat Loss Motivation
Losing 40% of Your Fat is Half Mental
Every day you’re moving forward, even a little, is another day you’re not going back. Fat loss and fitness is a journey. You won’t get there in an instant. Just like travelling to grandma’s house for the holidays, there’ll be times when you must pull over to take a leak!
Remember, it’s personal! Your fat loss journey is yours, no one can take it away, unless you let them! Are people trying to make you feel bad because you’re overweight? Stick it in their eye! Besides, studies clearly show that “fat shaming” doesn’t work as a fat loss motivation technique. In fact, it typically has the opposite effect! Tell ’em to put that in their pie hole and smoke it!
You’re the key! In fact a recent study discovered that “autonomous regulation is among the key predictors of successful weight outcomes” If you haven’t just returned from grad school, it simply means that finding internal motivation is key. Use what you must to make that happen. The key is all in finding something that works for you.
For me, it was a plethora of different things, but what triggered it was seeing myself in a picture, out of shape and linemanesque. It was a rude awakening, but one that I sorely needed. Rude awakenings can often be just the fat loss motivation you need too, if you keep them on your mind at all times.
Failed at losing fat in the past? So freakin’ what! You’re on a long and distinguished list. It’s not if you’ve failed before, but that fact that you hit it again. The great Vince Lombardi once said
“It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up.” He hit the nail on the head.
John Madden: “The road to Easy Street goes through the sewer.” Nah, if you’re under 30 you should know he’s not just a video game title and sports announcer. He was once a great coach, and the coach nailed it here. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it!
What do you do to keep yourself motivated to lose fat?
