Specific batches of whey protein powder manufactured for Nutrition Global LLC and marketed under the names SNI Pro Whey, SNI Pro Mass and Sci Labs Mass Fuzion have been voluntary recalled by the manufacturer due to concerns over possible salmonella contamination. No one has been reported sick, but Nutrition Global is taking the responsible approach and issuing a recall anyway.
The source of the possible contamination is instant non-fact dry milk made by the Plainview Milk Products Cooperative. Plainview Coop issued a recall of the milk, notified all purchasers of it, and recommended they do likewise.
Whey protein powder is an excellent dietary supplement and I use it 2 or 3 times a day myself. In this case however, caution should prevail and you should purchase a different bottle of the stuff, just to be safe.
Below are the batches of the different protein powders affected by the recall. If you have one, discontinue using it and call Nutrition Global LLC at 1-888-663-1113 to determine your next move.
